Birthday Wishes, Anniversary Dreams

As most of you know, Wednesday the 10th was my 28th birthday.  I was  blessed with numerous birthday wishes starting early in the morning which struck a very emotional chord with me leading me to cry for a good chunk of the morning.  Lunch was a great trip with Shayna to one of our favorite dining establishments...Long John Silver's.  I finished my "normal" workday and headed to the Y for cheerleading practice where I was greeted by "Happy Birthday Miss Liz" from all my girls.  Then at the end of practice they all sang "Happy Birthday" to me.  Once home I got my birthday present from Bryan, new running shoes and socks.  I have been wanting new shoes for months, so although it may seem strange, I was very excited with my gift.  All in all it was a good night.

Sunday the 14th was our one year wedding anniversary.  We first celebrated on Saturday with mom and dad, aunt Debbie and Uncle Steve Dopuch, Nicky, Melissa, Alex, Olivia, Cousin Gayle, JJ and Brendon.  We had snacks and cupcakes and cookie cake.  Alex even made me special cupcakes that looked like Penquins, since I love penquins!  Bryan and I also got to show everyone our wedding album that had a special surprise at the end that everyone loved.  After the party Bryan took me to a special place for my birthday and we got ice cream.  I can't say where...it's a special place.

On Sunday I had cheerleading practice and Bryan had track practice.  When we both got home we went to Trailhead Brewery for dinner.  It was wonderful.  Bryan loves to drink different kinds of  beers, so the fact that it is a microbrewery was heaven for him.  I loved it because they have hot pretzels with nacho cheese.  Yum!  When we got home we cut a piece of our year old wedding cake.  It actually wasn't bad; not very moist, but still edible.  We ended the night with me going to bed early.  Not very exciting, I know.   However, it was just perfect for us.  We know we don't need fancy gifts to show each other we care.  We just needed to make time and enjoy it with each other, which we did and pretty much do every time we spend time together.

So, here's to another birthday down and my first wedding anniversary.
